Group day trips: Romans, shoes capital
Discover the ancestral know-how of the city of Romans through the workshops of the “cité de la chaussure”.
This guided tour will be followed by a tasting lunch of traditional dishes prepared with local produce in a Romans restaurant.
Then come and visit the Romans Shoe Museum, housed in a former convent, and discover a unique collection of shoes from their origins to the present day, as well as the history of Romans shoe and leather production.
La Cité de la Chaussure

Discover the ancestral know-how of the town of Romans through the workshops of the Cité de la Chaussure.
The tour will plunge you into the history of the shoe, from its creation through to the finished product, showing you the different stages of manufacture: cutting, stitching, assembly and pampering.
For a little shopping, the Cité offers a wide range of footwear brands made exclusively in Romans, as well as accessories related to the world of leather and footwear (leather goods, jewelry, leather care, socks, etc.).

Shoe Museum

Access a unique collection of shoes from their origins to the present day, and discover the history of Roman shoe and leather production.
This magnificent collection is presented in a prestigious setting: the former Visitation convent and its landscaped gardens, listed as a historic monument.
All types of footwear are on display, from the oldest to the most contemporary, from the most classic to the most extravagant and the most exotic. The Musée de la Chaussure presents an encyclopedic exhibition unique in France.
