La Maison du Mouton

Description

The Maison du Mouton is one of the oldest civil buildings in the historic center of Romans, built in the early 14th century. Today, it's a place to discover the heritage and history of the town and the northern part of the Agglomération.

It probably belonged to a wealthy cloth merchant, who was prospering in Romans at the time.

The name "Maison du Mouton" probably derives from a sheep's head carved into the façade.

After its purchase by the city in 2020, the Maison du Mouton will be home to the Maison du Patrimoine (Heritage House) from autumn 2024.
