Description

Built in Neo-Gothic style in 1877 from tuff stone (quarried in Peyrus, a nearby village).
Designed by Lyon architect Tracol, it was completed in 1881.

Its bell tower, inspired by Florence's Palazzio Vecchio, was built in 1903.
On the left, a round tower adjoining the hotel, a vestige of the medieval wall, is one of the few remaining elements of the ancient ramparts.

The relative affluence of the building no doubt reflected a desire for prestige, as Chabeuil was a thriving industrial and commercial center at the time.
