Description

The commune of Combovin lies on the Valence plain, within the Vercors massif, at the confluence of the Véore and Cursayes valleys. It is also part of the Vercors Regional Nature Park, created in 1985.

First mentioned in 1225, Combovin was part of the Châteaudouble lands and mandements until 1640. During the Second World War, the village was the site of a major maquis movement, particularly on the Marquet and Griolles plateaus. The presence of Resistance fighters in the commune led to its bombardment on June 22, 1944, destroying the heart of the village and killing nine people.

Combovin is a village whose heart was destroyed in 1944. Three rivers and streams run through the lower part of the commune.
